    Paul Griffin: When did you start playing hockey?
    Mathew Menard: I started playing hockey when I was 4 years old.

    Paul Griffin: What is your Favorite pre/post game meal?
    Mathew Menard: My billet's lasagna.

    Paul Griffin: What are three things you cant live without?
    Mathew Menard: 1.laptop 2.Ipod 3.hockey

    Paul Griffin: What is your favorite road arena to play in?
    Mathew Menard: Moncton coliseum

    Paul Griffin: If you could change one rule about the game, what would it be?
    Mathew Menard: The misconduct you get for taking your helmet off before a fight.

    Paul Griffin: Did you play any other sports growing up?
    Mathew Menard: Boxing, tennis and base ball

    Paul Griffin: What do your off-season work outs consist of?
    Mathew Menard: I do cardio and weights.

    Paul Griffin: Do you have any pre-game superstitions or rituals?
    Mathew Menard: Yes, I have a lot im very superstitive

    Paul Griffin: Who was your NHL idol growing up, or maybe a player you pattern your
    game after?
    Mathew Menard: Éric Cairns
    Paul Griffin: Why?
    Mathew Menard: He is a defensemen and a guy who can play and who can fight.

    Paul Griffin: When was your first hockey fight?
    Mathew Menard: It was in cape-breton at my first training camp with the eagles I fought Brent Theriault

    Paul Griffin: When trying to get a player to drop the gloves, what are the kind of things you say, or do when at face offs or in the middle of play?
    Mathew Menard: Im just asking the guy if he wanna go. But if the guy dont wanna go because his coach or he his hurt Ill respect him because its happen to me sometime.

    Paul Griffin: What would you say has been the most memorable, or funny pre-fight conversation you've had with someone?
    Mathew Menard: I didnt have a funny pre-fight conversation its always just "you wanna go?"
     
    Paul Griffin: Have you ever had any funny or memorable penalty box incidents?
    Mathew Menard: Joey Ryan and me got a penalty in the same time. I ask him to go when we get out the box and he didnt want to go. I ask him again and the anouncer give to Joey his ring from the memorial cup champion and he show me the ring. Then they laughed at me.

    Paul Griffin: What kind of style do you like to fight? Would your consider yourself more of a technical fighter or a wide open kind of guy.
    Mathew Menard: I can go both style but Im more technical.
     
    Paul Griffin: Tell me about your first career fight!
    Mathew Menard: The guy hit me hard and when we get out the corner I slash him and the gloves dropped .

    Paul Griffin: Tell me about your best career fight!
    Mathew Menard: I think it was agaisnt Brett Gallant round 1. I surprised him.

    Paul Griffin: Tell me about your worst career fight!
    Mathew Menard: Against David Bouchard from Rimouski i have some difficulty with him.

    Paul Griffin: Right now, who is your biggest personal rival in the QMJHL, why?
    Mathew Menard: I think its David Bouchard from Rimouski. Because we play alot of game against Rimouski.

    Paul Griffin: Is there any one player out there, still active, retired, or even dead I
    suppose, that sometime in your career you would love to get your hands on and
    have a scrap with?
    Mathew Menard: Dave Morisette because in the past he has given me some help with technique.
